 | | RINGWOOD Ringwood is a busy market town on the western edge of the New Forest.
Sitting beside the River Avon and to the east of the Dorset Moor, it is approached by the A31 from Southampton or Bournemouth and the A338 from Salisbury.
Ringwood remains a traditional market town on the outskirts of the New Forest. Thatched cottages still abound with a traditional market on Wednesdays. Also on Wednesdays, during the summer months, the famous Ringwood Brewery will allow you to tour the brew house to see the processes involved in producing one of the Forests favourite ales.
Many listed buildings, along with the Parish church and its early Saxon beginnings, help to retain the character of the town. New Forest Tourist Information can be found at Lyndhurst, Lymington and Ringwood.
An ideal centre for exploring the new forest, there are many opportunities for the active. Enjoy the local flora and fauna by walking in the Avon valley or cycle, go horse riding or indulge in water sports - they all there to be enjoyed.
