 | | LYMINGTON & KEYHAVEN Lymington and Keyhaven, the perfect place for a New Forest short break at half term or for a romantic Valentines weekend. At the mouth of Lymington River sits this ancient seaport, with its bustling colourful town. A brilliant choice of new forest hotels awaits the weary traveller in and around Lymington.
Most of the graceful Georgian buildings, lining the impressive wide main street were built for the merchants, who traded in the local salt trade. The famous Saturday market really brings this town to life, with varied shops and stalls catering for all tastes and interests.
Access to Lymington is by car, train, coach or even boat, this being an Isle of Wight Wightlink Ferry port as well as a very popular yachting centre.
Walkers and nature lovers alike are well catered for, with some great walks along the tidal salt marshes, and the 18 hectares of lagoons that form the Keyhaven nature reserve. Ferries operate to Hurst Castle from Keyhaven.
