 | | CALSHOT & LEPE Lepe Country Park adjoining Calshot Spit is located on the very south-eastern fringe of the New Forest National Park, a few miles from Beaulieu. There are fabulous views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. From nearby Lymington you can take the Wightlink Ferry across to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.
There is also a good size play area for children, including swings and monkey bars. Lepe Country Park is also popular with Windsurfers. Calshot Castle is one of Henry VIII’s defence forts, built on Calshot Spit at the Solent near Fawley to guard the entrance to Southampton Water. Calshot also has an Activity Centre which boasts an indoor cycle track, a rock climbing wall and a ski slope. It is also an ideal location for water based sports.
