At the furthest tidal reaches of the Beaulieu River sits the picturesque village of Beaulieu, which is now an entertainments park of ancient and modern buildings.
The principal building in the village of Beaulieu Hampshire is the manor house - the home of Lord Montague, whose ancestors have inhabited the area since 1538. The manor house is open to the public and houses a fine collection of paintings and furnishings. Beaulieu is perhaps more famous now as the home of the Beaulieu Museum, one of the world's largest collections of motor vehicles.
To help you appreciate the grounds and its settings even more, it is now possible to tour the grounds using a high level monorail.
The old world charm of the new forest village lies in the red bricked buildings with its many craft and gift shops - their bay windows extending their fascinating old world magic to the many visitors that arrive each year from all over the world. Bucklers Hard is a little over two miles from its sister attraction of Beaulieu and is a picturesque 18th century village on the banks of the Beaulieu River.
