New Forest Towns & Villages

Over 900 years ago William the Conqueror claimed the magical heathland, glades, woods and shoreline of the New Forest as a royal playground.

Now the smallest of our National Parks, the peaceful atmosphere of this wonderful 220 square mile landscape has remained largely unchanged and the area is shaped and preserved by its unique traditions. The New Forest includes 26 miles of coastline. There are more than 7,300 ponies, cattle, donkeys and pigs and deer grazing on the Forest.

To many people the perfect break would be at a New Forest campsite or staying in a cottage in the New Forest. New Forest Tourist Information can be found at Lyndhurst, Lymington and Ringwood.

The Isle of Wight Wightlink Ferry can be boarded at Lymington and the short pretty ferry ride will take you across to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Portsmouth with its Spinnaker Tower and the Jurassic coastline of Dorset are all easily accessible from the New Forest.
