Shop and Drop at the new forest show

The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy (FCRT) is providing a ‘Shop & Drop’ facility during all three days of the New Forest & Hampshire County Show. Situated right next to the public entrance, shoppers can leave all their shopping and other belongings with them for safe keeping and collect them again at the end of the day.

This is a real boon for those shop-a-holics, as they can keep adding to their purchses during the day and be free to roam around the showground, not weighed down by their purchases. The FCRT will ask that those using this facility make a small donation to the FCRT to help with their work with horse motivated young people aged 16 to 25 with learning disabilities and difficulties. These are people whose educational needs cannot be met in their own General Further Education College.

The Centre has referrals from right across the UK and is an unique registered Charity and a Residential Specialist College situated right in the middle of the New Forest. Students follow a Further Education Through Horsemastership Course, developing their abilities in literacy, numeracy, communication and all other essential life skills, using – as the basis of their motivation for learning – their affinity and enthusiasm for horses and their environment . The FRCT

also runs weekly riding therapy sessions for local children between the ages of 3 and 12 years, who have a variety of disabilities. More information about the work of this charity will be available on the stand, or on www.fortunecentre.org or 01425 673297.

The New Forest Food Experience area will also have fridges to keep any produce bought cool until buyers are ready to collect.

The New Forest & Hampshire County Show is held at New Park, Brockenhurst from Tuesday July 29th to Thursday July 31st. Look at www.newforestshow.co.uk  for information, discounted tickets and the best way to travel to this popular event, by car or let the train take the strain. Tickets also available now by ringing 01590 622409.
