After 4 hours and 6 minutes of exhilarating racing Ellen MacArthur took the honours in the 2007 JP Morgan Asset Management, Round The Island Race.
Commenting afterwards she said that her main goal was to help raise money for the Ellen MacArthur Charitable Trust, but winning the line honours was also fantastic. In total 1753 boats took place, and with winds gusting up to 17 knots and three metre high waves, the weather was certainly challenging for all who competed in this annual event.
The Round The Island race is a handicap race, as a result the overall winner was a folkboat called Madeleine.
