 Most of the New Forest hotels offer warm and welcoming log fires together with hard to resist packages for a Christmas and New Year break. Eat fine local New Forest produce, drink wine from a New Forest vineyard and finish off with a bracing walk in the Forest.

In the New Forest you can shake off the stodge with walks through miles and miles of beautiful forest, or along stunning coastal paths. There are lovely tree lined cycle tracks and lanes to explore, with hardly a car in view. There are plenty of local cycle hire facilities too.
Sightseeing and Shopping
The beautiful Georgian town of Lymington has a whole range of gifts, goodies and designer clothes from its many boutique style shops that you won't find in the standard high street. Lymington is a renowned yachting location so when the lure of the shops dims you can slip down to the quayside and watch the boats go by, or even catch the ferry for the 30 minute trip to the beautiful Isle of Wight.

New Forest Christmas and New Year Events
For a traditional New Forest Christmas, there's a carol service deep in the middle of the Forest and a good selection of Christmas fairs. The New Forest is a great place to spend a festive break.The delightful and historic Braxton Gardens situated in Lymore Lane between Milford on Sea and Lymington is the place to buy your New Forest Christmas Tree. Not only do they have a great selection of all different styles, sizes and shapes of Christmas tree but they are kindly donating 50p of every New Forest Christmas Tree and wreath sold to the local Oakhaven Hospice.
