The New Forest
There's nothing like a New Forest cream tea. The Forests boasts a wealth of Tea Shops that serve the most delicious tea and cakes. One of the most popular, particularly with cyclists, is the Station House Tea Rooms at Holmsley. From here you can cycle along the pretty old railway track to the New Forest village of Burley. Or for a special treat you can take posh afternoon tea at the 'quintessentially Olde Englishe' Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu.
Many of the local pubs are dog friendly and serve excellent food. A favourite is the New Forest Inn at Emery Down beautifully set backing on to the Forest. Also popular is the fish and chip shop at the bottom of the hill in Lymington High Street. A short walk through the picturesque cobbled streets and you reach the delightful Lymington Quay, where there are some strategically positioned benches perfect for perching on whilst eating your fish and chips!
