The New Forest Ponies are owned by the Commoners. Visitors to the New Forest will see the ponies roaming wild overthe New Forest ancient woodland and heath land. The New Forest Pony is very hardy and also makes a good riding pony. There are estimated to be about 4,000 New Forest Ponies roaming over the New Forest.
