Bradbeers first appeared as a small draper's shop in Southampton back over 160 years ago. In November 1940 during the blitz it received a direct hit from a bomb which eventually led to the company relocating to both Romsey and New Milton.
In 2003, the size of the Romsey department store was almost doubled and a major refurbishment of the whole premises took place, including installation of an escalator and provision of two new restaurants and a furniture store.
The present day New Milton store is a landmark in the town and covers three floors. There is also a restaurant which is a popular meeting place in the town amongst the locals. The newly modernised furniture store is located a short distance away from the main building and stocks everything from beds to pictures.
| Bradbeers combines old fashioned values with up to date surroundings. Only recently the New Milton store has benefitted from a fabulous new shoe department, a separate cook shop, an updated perfumery and a refurbished lingerie department. The new fashion floor includes desirable brands such as Mexx, Espirit, Great Plains, Gerry Weber plus Editions, Sandwich. Hobbs, Fenn Wright Mansion, Country Casuals, Dash and First Avenue. The fashion department stocks quality labels and caters for all tastes, budgets and occasions. In fact Bradbeers, which is so quintessentially British, has restructured over the years and kept pace with the times without losing sight of its much treasured values of outstanding personal service and quality products. |
