It was time to get the men suited and booted. This was where I could see a lot of scope for conflict, mainly because lurking under the surface of most cool, calm, collected and reasonable brides to be is a scary Bridezilla just waiting to escape. I am no exception! Andy and I had previously discussed colour schemes where he refused point blank to wear anything even vaguely connected with pink! As I’m obviously keeping my outfit a secret before the big day, I won’t reveal what the men are wearing. All I’ll say is, we came to a compromise and I think that all the men are happy in their suits. We have decided to go for one overall look for all the men -morning suits, with Andy dressed differently to everyone else. As with all the other things that we have booked so far for our wedding, we decided to shop around a bit, but there was one clear winner right from the start. The suits really do seem to be one area where you definitely get what you pay for. As with bridal shops there seemed to be a massive difference in what was available from shop to shop. As most men will never have worn a traditional suit, we thought the easiest thing to do was for Andy to look at all the different styles available (morning suit, frock coat, Nehru collar, etc) to get a good idea of what choices were available before making any decisions. The man in the shop was really helpful and impartial - just what we needed. He was able to make suggestions about the outfits based on the colour scheme - and our reactions to previous suggestions! Apparently not all brides accompany their fiancé when looking at suits, but I’m afraid there was no keeping this Bride To Be away! Please see below for list of Premium Wedding Suppliers |
FINDING THE RIGHT SUIT Things to consider when choosing your wedding suits: - 1. Start soon - finding the right suit, tuxedo, and accessories can take as much time as locating the perfect wedding gown. 2. Shop around, there are many different types of jacket, tuxedo, morning suit etc and many different styles of lapel.
3. Reserve the tuxedos as soon as possible so that you don’t wind up with the dregs.
4. If you’re going on honeymoon have the best man return rented outfits the first working day after the wedding.
5. If you rent, pick up the suits two or three days in advance. Check to make sure that all the buttons are on and secure and that the suit has no stains, cigarette burns, or other damage.
