Buying your wedding rings is such a special & personal thing. I hope you find the following useful when you go looking - be prepared for LOTS of shopping! Most importantly remember that your Wedding ring will be (hopefully) staying on your finger for the rest of your life. For this reason, it must be a style that won’t date and you will be as proud of in 50 years as you will be on your Wedding Day! We soon discovered that there were lots about Wedding rings we didn’t know. Gold is available in yellow, white, red, pink, green and occasionally blue or purple. You could consider platinum. White gold is usually plated with a metal called rhodium and will need to be re-plated from time to time. If you want a ring that stays white, choose platinum. You could use sentimental gold: A properly trained Goldsmith will be able to make your wedding rings using gold from jewellery you may have inherited, for example, your parents’ or grandparents’ wedding rings. You could also have your rings designed and handmade with your initials, dates or a personal message engraved inside. Remember the ring must also suit your lifestyle. – Andy has a very active job and so we thought a hard wearing, Titanium ring would be modern, durable and inexpensive to replace if lost! WEDDING RING TIPS 1. Get the right size: Fingers tend to swell up when they get hot, so never buy a ring that’s a bit tight on a cold day.
2. Leave some room: If you intend to wear an eternity ring in the future make sure you leave space on your finger for one.
3. Engrave the inside: Engrave the date of your wedding on the inside of your rings and he will never forget your anniversary!
4. Pick the right metal: Choose a wedding ring made from the same metal as your engagement ring, different metals can wear each other away.
5. Set stones: Even the smallest diamond will liven up a plain wedding band, but be careful; too many stones can take attention away from your engagement ring.
