Today’s stag and hen dos are all about originality. L- plates and plastic male parts might be good fun, but some bride and grooms may want a more sophisticated choice. You might want to soak up culture in a foreign city, try your hand at bungee jumping, white-water rafting, or be pampered in a luxury spa. Or perhaps a lovely day’s shopping followed by cocktails and a fashionable restaurant are more your thing? Alternatively, you might want nothing more than a traditionally booze-soaked rave-up in your local – whatever you do make sure it is your choice and don’t let anything spoil your stag and hen celebrations.
It’s best to start by drawing up a list of people and thinking about what you would like to do and decide on what kind of stag/hen would be best for the people that you are inviting. Don’t go too over the top. You might like the idea of a week in Paris but not everyone will want to spend that much time or money celebrating. If you want to do something big, stick to really close friends only.
Let stags/hens know well in advance if there’s anything extra they should bring such as old photos, a change of clothes, etc. It helps to swap email address`s and mobile numbers and be available to answer queries about directions, accommodation, etc. Make sure everyone knows exactly where you’re meeting e.g. which bar of the hotel? Which entrance of the station?
Most importantly make sure everyone knows roughly how much the do will cost, and that they’ll be helping to cover the bride’s/groom’s costs and keep everyone posted as to how and when payment is to be made.
