TIARAS Tiaras can be as intricate or as simple as you want them to be and its worth trying on different styles to see what suits you best. Take the following into account: your face shape, the neckline on your dress and your colour scheme. You may want to consider an off the shelf version or like me plump for something designer made (not as expensive as you may think). After the day, pack your tiara away carefully. In years to come, future generations of your family may want to wear it as their ‘something old’. VEILS
When it comes to veils, generally speaking the longer, the more formal. Lengths vary from shoulder to cathedral length. Veils can be worn over the face for the ceremony, but it’s more common now for brides to have them already lifted off their face and its worth bearing in mind: they do have a tendency to stick to lipstick! If your dress is simple and classic, you can afford to be a bit more extravagant with the veil and if possible try and buy your veil and your dress at the same time. They have to work together as an outfit but don’t overdo it. If your dress is quite fancy, keep the veil simple. If you are small, don’t have a veil that’s too long – it will make you look even smaller, also make sure that it doesn’t cover your flowers or the back of your dress.
SHOES
Shoes can complete your outfit and make all the difference to how special you feel on the day. If they fit like a glove, you will hardly notice that you are wearing them. Don’t leave shoe shopping until last, but equally don’t buy them before you have bought your dress! Heels: you can either wear them or you can’t. If you’re one of the latter, it’s best you get practicing now. Three and a half inches is about the maximum height recommended on your Wedding day. Anything more than that and you will probably want to take them off at the earliest opportunity!!!! Go for a few pedicures in the run-up to the day and get your feet into tip top shape and do not buy your shoes before you have chosen your dress, however tempted you are. The style and shade of your dress should dictate your shoes, not the other way round.
