Cinque Ports is a historic series of coastal towns in Kent and Sussex, at the eastern end of the English Channel .The name is  French for "five ports" – the five being Dover,  Hastings, New Romney, Hythe, and Sandwich.

Mention Dover and most people immediately think of the famous ‘White Cliffs’.
Stunning as the coast line is, there is a whole lot more to discover in and around cosmopolitan Dover.
It is now one of the world's busiest ferry ports and the nearest town in Kent to France, it is known as the ‘Gateway to England’. You could visit the first cross channel ferry, exhibited in the Dover Museum, or look in on beautiful Dover Castle, an immense Norman castle set high on the legendary White Cliffs.
