Detectives in Lyndhurst are appealing for information about the movements of a red Jaguar XJ Sport following the burglary of a property yesterday (Tuesday, February 16).
The Jaguar was taken from a property in Picket View, Shobley, Ringwood at about 10pm, after the keys were taken during the commission of the burglary.
It was then later recovered by police in the car park at Linford Bottom, next to the great Linford enclosure, having been found abandoned.
Its registration number is HBZ 284.
Detective Inspector Ian Craddock said: "We need to know more about the movements of this vehicle between the time of the incident when it was stolen and the time it was recovered. This may well assist us in tracking down those responsible for the burglary.
"We would like to hear from anyone who saw this car between 10pm yesterday evening and 9am this morning in the Ringwood area or further afield and may be able to tell us more about the suspects and their movements.
"We believe the car may have been driven in both the Ringwood area and down into Dorset at some point during the night, so may have been seen by people in either county."
Anyone who believes they saw a car fitting this description and anyone in it should contact Lyndhurst CID on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
