Welcome to the Sammy Miller Museum Which many consider houses the finest collection of fully-restored motorcycles in Europe; many of them extremely rare. Sammy Miller was awarded an MBE for Services to Motorcycle Heritage in the 2009 New Years Honours List. We are now fully reopen 7 days a week, 10.00am to 4.30pm Unlike most other museums, this is more than a static collection, to be dusted and polished at regular intervals and displayed like butterflies with pins through them. This is a live museum, for whenever the opportunity presents itself these machines are run in classic bike events of one kind or another. Many of the racing machines are still fully competitive and capable of giving a good account of themselves in high speed parades. Like any good museum, the contents are changing constantly. Virtually every new aquisition represents a full-scale renovation, with the attendant difficulty in finding missing parts or replacements to exchange for those that are badly worn. New exhibits are being sought all the time, so if you know of anything that is worth rescuing, please let us know and we will follow it up. Apart from the motorcycles on display you will also see many interesting artifacts, all of which represent a link with motorcycling of a by-gone era. Unfortunately they are too numerous to list individually, but wherever possible a display card has been provided as a means of identification. If you have any suggestions for the improvement of the museum, please do not hesitate to let us know. Time will not stand by as far as the museum itself is concerned and we would like you to come again, in the knowledge that there will always be something different to see. This unique family museum has evocative and atmospheric displays of teddy bears from throughout the last century. The earliest teddy bear on display dates back to 1906. It was one of the very first teddy bears to be made, and is based on the original pattern of the first teddy bear made by the Ideal Toy Co. There are numerous bears of all shapes and sizes from throughout the hundred year history of the teddy bear, right up to artist bears and award winners of today. Famous bears such as Rupert Bear, Winnie the Pooh and Paddington are also present, as are many TV favourites The museum is set in the ‘home’ of Edward Bear â€" a human sized teddy bear â€" who with his extended family have been avid bear collectors! Grandma Bear and Edward Junior are there to greet you in the reception room. In the living room Grandpa Ted is asleep in his favourite armchair whilst uncle Baloo plays music to Bearnice. In his study Edward Bear is reviewing his collection of teddy bears. The whole visit is great nostalgic fun and a chance to enter the enchanting world of the teddy bear in this family museum. Opening times: All year daily 10.00am to 5.00pm, November to March 4.30pm. Closed 24 to 26 December. A great all weather Dorset attraction.

VISIT ONE OF THE ONLY TIDE MILLS IN THE WORLD PRODUCING FLOUR DAILY IN A 900 YEAR OLD TRADITION Eling Tide Mill is a water mill that harnesses the power of the tide to grind wheat into wholemeal flour. Situated on the edge of Southampton Water beside the renowned New Forest, there has been a mill on the site for over 900 years. It was abandoned in the 1940s, but had the good fortune to survive until it was restored between 1975 and 1980, at which time it re-opened as both a working mill, and a museum to this part of our industrial heritage. It is the one of the only fully working and productive tide mill in the United Kingdom producing flour as it had throughout the last Millennium and one of only a handful of mills in the entire world producing flour on a regular basis. An interesting New Forest attraction

The only museum on mainland Britain dedicated to dinosaurs; the award-winning Dinosaur Museum is a treat, especially for children. The museum combines life-sized reconstructions of dinosaurs with fossils and skeletons to create a hands-on experience. Multimedia displays tell the story of the giant prehistoric animals and their enthralling world millions of years ago. The life-size dinosaur reconstructions, which include Tyrannosaurus rex, Corythosaurus, Deinonychus and Triceratops, are among the most popular displays. They beg to be touched by little hands - and that's encouraged. The Dinosaur Museum is situated in the centre of Dorchester, a gateway town to the Jurassic Coast. The museum has most recently been heralded as one of Britain’s Top Ten Family Museums. Previously it has been chosen as one of Britain’s Top Ten Hands On Museums. Such hands on displays as the ‘feely box’ and ‘feel a fossil’ mean discovering about dinosaurs is fun, and the 'Dinosaur Discovery' Gallery upstairs is filled with even more interactive displays. Whatever the weather be sure to visit Dorchester’s monster attraction. An all weather Dorset attraction.

I am delighted to welcome you to Breamore House which is my family’s home, and in fact has been home to nine generations of my family. Set in its own beautiful parkland amid surrounding farms and fields, the grandeur and magnificence of the house has changed little over the past 400 years. The Elizabethan Manor House and Countryside Museum are open for visitors from April until the end of September. Breamore House is also available as a reception venue for weddings and private parties and as a unique filming location. I hope you enjoy your visit. Michael Hulse. An historic New Forest attraction.
